What do you think I should do to have a dual citizenship?

Today we got a comment and question from Monalisa.

Here is what Monalisa had to say:

Hi Bob, I arrived here in Australia in 2001 and became an Australian citizen in January 2007.
What do you think should I do to have a dual citizenship? I’m not quite so sure about this matter.Do I need to do anything in order for me to have a proper, legal and documented dual citizenship? Any advice from you Bob is well appreciated and thank you very much.

Wondering if She Lost her Filipino Citizenship?

Hi Monalisa – I am not sure of Australian law, but if Australia allows dual citizenship, all you need to do is request the paperwork from the Philippine Consulate or Embassy nearest you, fill it out, submit it, and swear your oath. After you do those things, you will be a dual citizen!
